Private Pilot Training
The private pilot course schedule is flexible and can be accomplished in 6-8 weeks of dedicated flight training. During private pilot training,
the foundation for becoming a good pilot is built. It is important that the student take the time to learn properly the basic skills of radio technique, proper use of
checklists, the Federal Aviation Regulations, aircraft control, flying by use of outside references, airspace, systems, and weight and balance.
The Flight Academy Private Pilot Course can be accomplished typically in 21 days of instruction encompassing both ground and flight instruction. The actual time
depends on the student and the amount of outside prep time. Our average student in the Cirrus has taken 70 hours of flight time to complete the course.
We do 100 hours of ground school training one on one with our clients geared towards real- world aviating. We do still recommend that our clients review the
included DVD course prior to beginning training with us.
We are able to do the course in a client owned plane or in one of our planes.
The Private Pilot Course is divided into three phases:
Phase 1: Pre-Solo - The student will learn all of the maneuvers required by the FAA to solo.
Phase 2: Cross Country - The student will learn how to conduct a cross country flight and will fly three solo cross countries.
Phase 3: Check ride prep - The student will revisit and practice the maneuvers required to pass an FAA check ride.
The Flight Academy requires a 50% down payment to begin the course.
These times are a guide, and we have found them to work in the past with prior clients. There is no guarantee that you will pass an FAA private pilot check ride
after 70 hours of flight instruction.
